A concept of Communication process for systemic change in business organization

Chain reaction in the context of business may sound somewhat intriguing and an understanding of its workings for achieving positive results may be worth the thought by the managers and top executives of business organizations.

Business means a gamut of a series of complex activities working in the form of chain reactions. Only a meticulous planning can help many unwelcome hazards. Planning is the primary requirement. It includes the entire spread of all the related functional areas of business. This is the larger picture of planning.

Planning would gain substantial effectiveness if an individual in the organization is motivated to participate in the process instead of confining it to the top executives. Before taking any decision, the cause and effect of every individual’s action is evaluated and ascertained how his action would be beneficial to others directly or indirectly. Individuals with their respective actions, form sort of support blocks of a super structure, that is, the organization.

Thus, a self-amplifying chain of events produces positive feedback for planning and execution, notwithstanding its motivating effect at the non-executive level too. It inculcates a sense of participation and belongingness in the organization. The chain reaction approach to perform tasks and planning can produce phenomenal positive results.

In the entire exercise, the role of the communications specialist is very significant, as she has to maintain and enhance the image of the organization. The specialist has to write a variety of stuff for the audience like press releases, newsletters, web content, blog etc. However, the communications specialist may not understand the various aspects of business well. A smart and capable communications specialist will be someone who will drive strong internal communication strategy to involve the people from different functional areas and create a strong talent pool. These people can write or provide ideas regarding their areas or contribute towards other activities as well. This would not only facilitate the work of the communication specialist but also make such people more energetic and motivated. A small creative deviation in their routine job would increase their sense of participation and give them more satisfaction. It would act as a catalyst to enhance overall productivity. It can spark a chain of positive reaction to the benefit of the organization.

Chain reaction system invigorates bonding and communication at all levels of function in the organization and coordination of all creative ideas in a cogent manner while forging policy for execution. The system is very likely to yield remarkable results for the benefit of the organization, as well as, open a wide scope for innovation in all areas of organization’s activity.

The Soulful Singer

His Ghazal Rocks!

EXCERPTS FROM THE MOST INTIMATE CONVERSATION WITH THE SOULFUL SINGER, FARIDOON SHAHRYARImage

He is a film journalist by profession and works as content head (broadband) for the very popular and only online Bollywood channel. He has studied Journalism from the Times School of Journalism and has written for all the leading newspapers in the country. iO’ Choice India’s Social Media Awards 2013 is running online polls and Faridoon is leading, leaving behind journalists like Barkha Dutt, Anupama Chopra and Rajdeep Sardesai.

Music is soul to all musicians and they are born with it. Faridoon too, had music in him, music has meant every emotion to him and it has been his way of life as far as he can remember. His expression for music is his voice and he has acquired training from a tender age. He is ever seeking new and unexplored realms in music and wants to convey it to people in a subtle way without imposing it on anyone or making it obvious. He is strongly against promoting himself, as he wants his voice to travel from one ear to another and one heart to another, the way sound travels in its natural form cutting its way through all matter. He does not want to transmit music through technology but through emotions. He says, “Music is a constant state for me, I am in it and it is in me. I do ‘riyaz’ anytime, anywhere and everywhere. It is a pure and unconditional feeling of happiness for me. I am loving it more and more as I bond with it with every note that excites my impulses.” Singing is not a lucrative career for him but a legacy that he wants to carry forward, which he has inherited from his great father and poet Professor Shahryar. He wants to sing his father’s ghazals and reach it out to his lovers so that they never feel his absence.

His musical journey into the captivating world started in the year 2000 when he recorded his first song ‘Shab-e-gham’ written by his father Shahryar Sahab. He recorded several songs after that and came out of his first music album ‘Touch of Romance’ in 2001.

He worked for three and a half years on his latest album ‘Palkon ko Bhigoen Kaise’. When asked about it, Faridoon said, “Composing and singing a Ghazal requires a thought process that matches the wavelength of each word in it. Every note, every chord and every instrument played should be able express the emotion and meaning of each word. Every element in the song should be in harmony. The process is complex, as the intricate nuances of the words in the ghazals have to be conveyed along with the expressions, which cannot be written in words. Music has to communicate that to the listeners, it is the bond, which binds the listener to the deliverer of the Ghazal. The album would not be complete without Mr. Navneet Kedar’s contribution as a music composer, arranger and sound engineer. He is a man of high caliber. While making the videos also we had to pay great attention to the visuals, they had to be in sync with the mood of the Ghazal.”

The creative head Soumini Paul, of a leading online music portal has coined the term ‘Ghazal Rock’ after listening to the novel and intriguing singing and composition of his Ghazals. Bollywood stars are raving about his album. Priyanka Chopra complimented him by saying “Very well done Faridoon, I am quite impressed.” Himesh Reshamiya excitedly said, “It’s superb, God bless you always bro”. Gaurav Malani, film critic for Indiatimes says, “I was expecting a Ghazal number considering the lyrics but was pleasantly surprised to hear a rocking version, the musical arrangements were neat and your singing and entire packaging is absolute professional work .The echo effect sounds nice. You should try playback singing in films, seriously!”  He is praised and recognized by all for his distinct style of singing the ghazals.

A Ghazal from the album was released on the popular online music portal and it hit the top ten in the charts. However, he formally launched the album on April 13, 2013 in GEC, AMU as he wanted to be close to his roots. He gave a heart-rending performance of all the five songs in his album and was praised by all.

The famous Film Director Mr. Mahesh Bhatt said to Faridoon after listening to his songs once,   “I will be the first one to buy your album when it is out in the market. You are doing great service to your great father by making his poetry reach out to big numbers. I like the different style of music in your songs and your singing is meant not only for India but the whole world to listen”

The album is homage from him to his father in which he has sung the ghazals written by him. He is sure to connect with his father through the medium of his soulful voice.

An Interview with The Hi Tech Musician

HE IS A MUSICIAN WITH AN ENGINEERING DEGREE IN ELECTRONICS

Mr. Navneet Kedar needs no introduction to the music fraternity in Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh, India) and owns the most technologically advanced recording studio in the city. He is a multi talented professional who is into singing, music composition, production and arrangement of different genres of music. With several prestigious projects to his credit, he has been widely recognized for his work and is a source of inspiration to many.

Please tell us about your journey into the musical world.

I worked for few months in New Delhi after completing my studies but the job did not interest me. I did engineering to design and build my own equipment. I was desperate to create music. Since my childhood, I wanted to immerse myself in music. In spite of strong objections from my parents, I decided to quit my job and opened a music shop at Aligarh. It was the first shop in the city, which had a varied collection of western music. I listened to different genres of music. I learnt and updated myself with online tutorials on music and utilized that period in polishing my skills. I started to compose music from that time. Everyone thought I was crazy to give up a bright future for music but I was determined and believed in myself. I collected decent amount of money to invest in my studio. I required equipment for recording and creating music so I designed, customized and built my own equipment. I was the first one in India to make a four track analog recorder. I did not look back after that, I crossed all hurdles to be where I am today. I started as a sound engineer in my studio and now I am a singer, music composer, producer and an arranger. I also encourage, launch and promote artistes who are talented and passionate about music.

Why did you want to design your own equipment?

I wanted to hear good music from a good sound system and produce music the way I wanted to and that system had to be my creation and not a ready made system from the market. That was my motivation to pursue an engineering degree in electronics. I am passionate about building my equipment as much as I am passionate about music.

What is Music to you?

Music is the fresh air that I breathe. As a composer the melody and rhythm that I create is the reflection of my soul.

You have composed music for Shaharyar Sahab’s ghazals, how was the experience?

It is a great honour to compose his ghazals. Mr. Faridoon Shaharyar, his son has sung the ghazals in his soulful voice and the experience was elating. The album will be launched soon but the ghazals are available on iTunes.

How are you associated with Bollywoodhungama.com?

It is great to be associated with Bollywoodhungama.com as it is the only online official bollywood channel. I do all the background scores for them.

What does achievement mean to you?

Achievement is not a single state for me it is an ongoing state. I will keep crafting new dimensions in sound and music as sound is ever alive in the cosmos. My satisfaction is my achievement.
